Our First Twisted Technique Challenge: Blown Ink and a prize pack!

So exciting!!  Our first Twisted Technique Challenge goes live today!  I have never tried this technique before and had so much fun trying out different variations.  Blown Ink is a very cool technique, and if you check out all the Design Team card you will see just how versatile it is!  Be sure to read all the way through for a chance to win!

I decided to create a background using reinkers in Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Pear Pizazz.  I twisted it up a bit by also adding Frost White shimmer paint!

How did she do that??

  1. Start with glossy white cardstock
  2. Randomly place single drops of reinker as desired.  Not to close together!  You can always add more.
  3. Using a straw, blow the ink around and around and around until you get the effect you would like.
  4. Sit down because you will be dizzy (like I was!)
  5. If you want to step it up, when you are done with the reinkers, add a few random drops of Frost White Shimmer paint and get that straw working again!
  6. Then sit down again.

Tips!

  • I found that I like to stand when I do this technique, giving me more control over where the ink goes.  That is why I had to sit down periodically.
  • Try different color combinations and different amounts of ink too!  YOu will get very different results depending on how much ink you apply and how long you blow it
It's our first challenge at The Technique Twist Challenge blog & what better way to celebrate than with a blog hop!  To enter, leave a comment on the each blog for your chance to win a great prize pack!

Several of us are putting some goodies into the prize pack...here is just part of what is in the prize pack!

Fresh Vintage (retired SAB) stamp set, Dazzling Diamonds, Delicate Details Lace Tape (reti)  and Stampin Spritzers!

We'll randomly draw one name as our winner out of all the entries! Contest ends on June 26, 2013 at 1159p ET. Good luck!

5 days and counting

to the debut challenge of the Technique Twist Challenge!

Here is a little sneak peek...whatever could this be???

Stop back on Saturday the 15th to see!

In the meantime, here is a card I made recently but did not post.  I made a faux letterpress card, using the honeycomb embossing folder, a brayer/inkpad and watercolor paper.  Just ink up the raised portion of the folder with the brayer after rolling it in ink, insert and emboss your watercolor paper.  It is pretty close to letterpress!  I find that watercolor paper works best for this technique.

I have a few other projects not yet posted, so I will be sharing those this week as well!
